Some quick internet research reveals that, though the American Society for Reproductive Medicine insists that payment “should not be such that the monetary incentive is the primary factor in donating sperm,” compensation ranges between thirty and two hundred dollars per donation.
Now, I will concede here that I lack immediate experience, but I do not think my logic fallacious to suppose that sperm donation is any more strenuous than purchasing and scratching off a lottery ticket. And, certainly, the outcome is much less a mystery.
